Cowden Limited has announced the appointment of Paul Shand as Chairman and Veronica Grigg as Chief Executive Officer.
David Cowden, Director and member of the Board, said the appointments reflect the Board’s focus on strong leadership, disciplined growth and long-term value creation.
“Paul has founded and led successful businesses in the insurance and professional services sector and brings deep commercial judgement and a practical approach to governance,” Mr Cowden said. “His appointment as Chairman strengthens the Board as we continue to build the business for the long term.”
Mr Cowden said “Ms Grigg’s appointment as CEO brings proven executive leadership and global perspective to Cowden’s next phase of growth.”
“Veronica is a highly respected insurance leader with a strong track record across Australia, Asia and international markets,” he said. “She brings the experience, energy and strategic capability required to lead Cowden’s Australian business and to work closely with the Board in delivering for our clients and stakeholders.”
Ms Grigg joins Cowden with more than 25 years’ experience in global insurance and risk advisory roles spanning specialty insurance, broking, underwriting and business transformation. In her role as CEO, she will lead Cowden’s Australian operations, with responsibility for strategy, growth, client outcomes and talent development.
Ms Grigg said “I am pleased to be joining Cowden at an exciting time for the business. Cowden has a strong reputation and a clear opportunity for growth. I look forward to working with Paul, the Board and the team to build on these foundations and deliver for clients and stakeholders.”
Ms Grigg will commence in the role on 1 March 2026.
